Plein Air

The Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge (Plein Air group I paint with) have not had many opportunities to paint this last year.  We did go yesterday and is was a beautiful day but very windy.
We went to Explorer Park on The Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia.  There is so much beauty it is difficult to choose the scene you want to put on canvas.
After painting we had a meeting and planed where to go for our next Plein Air meeting.  We also had lunch and just enjoyed the outdoors.

Misty Day

Misty Day

For the last few weeks we have not had ideal weather for Plein Air Painting.
I am looking forward to an event October 11th-14th 2018 in Roanoke Virginia.
A 2-day workshop with Ha Ou Hou (haiouhoufineart.com), our internationally
recognized judge, and two days Plein Air Painting.

Painting above "Misty Day" is a painting I did last year at the "Plein Air Roanoke"
event at South Peak.  This year there will be several locations where you will be able to paint.
Will be a lot of fun.

The Spring Home Show at the Salem Civic Center (in Salem,VA) opened this afternoon.  It was a windy day today but the sun was shining. There is a weather prediction that we may see Snow tomorrow afternoon. The Show will continue thru Saturday and Sunday.  I and nine other artists would like to see you there and hope that the snow will wait for another day.
A painting of Max and other art.

I know it needs a lot of work but I am swimming in new waters.
Sort of like the Lilies in painting below.

Abstract

Berries of Red
Don't know where the time goes.

Christmas has come and gone and the new year is already flying by.  We, The Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge, have not been able to paint plein air.  Illness and not so great weather has kept us in.  I have been putting up still live settings for subjects and playing around with abstract painting.  I don't find it to be easy at all.
