A Toast

                                                                  A Glass of Wine

The Sun is finally shining. For a person that paints en plein air it is a very good
thing.  A Glass of Wine is done with acrylic paint and acrylic ink.  Was a lot of
fun but with better weather my friends and I can go back out doors.

Plein Air Painting

I paint Plein Air with a group of ladies for fun.  It has been at least 6 months since we have been able to get together and have a day of painting in the out doors.  We are "The Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge".  Four of us were able to make it this last week.  It was a cool but beautiful day.

Plein Air

The Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge (Plein Air group I paint with) have not had many opportunities to paint this last year.  We did go yesterday and is was a beautiful day but very windy.
We went to Explorer Park on The Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia.  There is so much beauty it is difficult to choose the scene you want to put on canvas.
After painting we had a meeting and planed where to go for our next Plein Air meeting.  We also had lunch and just enjoyed the outdoors.

Misty Day

Misty Day

For the last few weeks we have not had ideal weather for Plein Air Painting.
I am looking forward to an event October 11th-14th 2018 in Roanoke Virginia.
A 2-day workshop with Ha Ou Hou (haiouhoufineart.com), our internationally
recognized judge, and two days Plein Air Painting.

Painting above "Misty Day" is a painting I did last year at the "Plein Air Roanoke"
event at South Peak.  This year there will be several locations where you will be able to paint.
Will be a lot of fun.

Abstract

Berries of Red
Don't know where the time goes.

Christmas has come and gone and the new year is already flying by.  We, The Double Line Painters of the Blue Ridge, have not been able to paint plein air.  Illness and not so great weather has kept us in.  I have been putting up still live settings for subjects and playing around with abstract painting.  I don't find it to be easy at all.

It has been a very busy year for The Double Line Painters and Plein Aire painting. Sorry to say that winter is on the way.  Hopefully there will be very little snow.  We live on a hill and it is very difficult to shovel the snow.

I am looking forward to the League of Roanoke Artists event at The Adult Care Center of the Roanoke Valley November 4th and 5th.  I don't know how many artists will be there but it is a large building so there should be a lot of great art.  Also think it will be a lot of fun to see the artists and friends you didn't see at the Showcase Reception.

                                                                "On the Horizon"

Be sure to look me up and say Hello.
